Climate Risk Management

We help cities, non governmental organizations, public and private sector individuals, institutions and organizations to build urban and social resilience against climate change by helping them address climate risks and vulnerabilities.

Most of the world’s population lives in cities and this rate is increasing. Cities are the areas where the effects of climate change are felt most intensely. These effects appear in the form of increased heat island effect in cities, air pollution, hot/cold air waves and water scarcity, change in precipitation regime, increase in the number of dry days, and rain water causing floods or overflows.

In this context, as IAD, we carry out studies on;

  • Enhancing the knowledge base of NGOs, public and private sector individuals, institutions and organizations on disasters caused by climate change and urban resilience,
  • Strengthening institutional capacities by providing strategic and technical assistance on climate risks and urban resilience solutions and cooperation methods in these areas,
  • Dissemination of best practices,
  • Integrating the urban and societal resilience approach into city master plans and development plans and sector-specific plans or projects.
